Crustal Deformation and Geohazards in the Greater Yellowstone Region

Surface Deformation in the Northeastern Part of ESRP and its Adjacent Basin-Range Province

The slides show InSAR observations of the recent crustal displacements in the northeastern part of the Eastern Snake Rive Plain (ESRP), the western part of Yellowstone Plateau, and the immediately adjacent Basin-Range Province between 2004 and 2006.

Surface deformation due to magmatic processes underneath Yellowstone is observed across the Yellowstone and Henrys Fork calderas. Slight differential surface displacements are also detected along the major normal faults in the Basin-Range Province. Additional images and details will be added later.
